Excitement Builds as Savannah Gears Up for the Women Who Rule Event!

Get ready to mark your calendars, Savannah! The Women Who Rule event is just around the corner, taking place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Savannah Convention Center. This eagerly awaited event, hosted by the United Way of the Coastal Empire, is officially sold out, and it’s no surprise why! This gathering will not only feature an extraordinary panel discussion but also raise funds for critical transportation needs in our vibrant community.

A Star-Studded Panel Awaits!

During the program, which kicks off at 12:00 pm, attendees will be treated to a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring three inspiring women leaders from our very own Savannah. Ivory Brown, who recently earned the title of 2024-2025 Effingham County School District Teacher of the Year, will share her experiences from nearly two decades of teaching. Ivory is not just a teacher; she leads the Best Buddies Program at Ebenezer Middle School and actively volunteers with the United Way Young Leaders.

Next up is Molly Lieberman, the Executive Director of Loop It Up Savannah, Inc. She is the heart behind a nonprofit organization that touches the lives of over 12,000 students each year. With a focus on arts, literacy, and hands-on learning, Molly’s dedication to fostering children’s growth through creative avenues is truly inspiring.

Completing this dynamic trio is Dr. Denise Watts, who serves as the Superintendent of Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Watts is committed to enhancing educational opportunities, particularly for underserved communities, demonstrating a steadfast dedication to improving schools in our region.

Leading with Purpose

Chairing this vibrant event is Suzanne Kirk, the President and HR Consultant of Employee Development Strategies, Inc. Under her leadership, the event’s planning committee includes 30 women leaders, all working tirelessly to ensure the success of this year’s festivities.

Adding to the excitement, Stacy Jennings has been honored as the 2025 United Way “Woman of the Year”, a well-deserved accolade that underscores the quality of women who will be showcased at Women Who Rule. This recognition highlights the commitment and passion of women who are making a significant difference in our community.

Making a Meaningful Impact

The primary goal of this event? To raise funds aimed at addressing urgent transportation needs within Savannah and its surrounding areas. The funds raised will go directly towards providing gas cards, bus passes, and minor car repairs for those in need. It’s a wonderful initiative that embodies the spirit of community support, emphasizing that transportation should never be a barrier to opportunity.

As the excitement brews in Savannah, it’s hard not to feel the energy surrounding the Women Who Rule event. It promises to be an engaging and uplifting day celebrating the power of women to support each other and uplift the community.
