A Mission to Unite the Community

This event isn’t just about exercise; it’s a chance to strengthen connections among Savannah residents. The Faith and Health Coalition is passionate about caring for the community, aiming to bring people together and show that wellness is an essential part of life.

For those who may not know, the Faith and Health Coalition formed back in 2014 to support faith-based organizations focused on promoting health. It’s been doing wonderful work, having successfully received two generous grants from the CDC, including a $3.4 million grant in 2018 and another $5.1 million grant in 2023.

Updates on Trail Connections

Tide to Town urban trail system project. With ongoing construction to complete the final three-mile stretch of the Truman Trail, the goal is to connect the Lake Mayer Park Trail Loop to the Daffin Park Trail Loop. This ambitious project aims to ensure that 75% of Savannah’s neighborhoods are linked with safe walking and biking infrastructure.

When it’s all said and done, the Tide to Town network is set to provide over 30 miles of trails connecting more than 60 neighborhoods and 30 schools across Savannah and Chatham County. If you can’t wait for the event to hit the trails, check out Healthy Savannah’s online Healthy Walks map for trail routes to start your healthy journey today!
