Exciting news is buzzing from Atlanta! On April 14, 2025, it was announced that Keith Hamilton will be stepping into the role of president at Georgia-Pacific’s Corrugated business. This strategic move comes as the company aims to bolster its operational leadership and enhance its overall performance.
Keith has been part of the Georgia-Pacific family since 2018 when he joined as a regional area operations leader for the Corrugated business. Over the years, he’s climbed the ladder, utilizing his extensive experience in various operational roles within the organization. Before this promotion, he served as the vice president of operations for the Corrugated division, where he worked diligently on numerous projects that have shaped the division’s success.
In his new position, Keith will oversee operations and manage commercial teams spread across an impressive network of 35 sites. These locations include box plants, sheet feeders, the innovative Hummingbird® digital print, and EarthKraft® mailers. This means that his influence will reach a wide variety of product lines and innovations, which is crucial for the business’s growth and adaptation in the ever-changing packaging industry.
During his time at Georgia-Pacific, Keith has made significant strides in advancing the company’s safety priorities and fostering a strong, principle-based culture amongst employees. Establishing a safe workspace is essential, especially in a manufacturing environment, and Keith’s leadership has played a pivotal role in maintaining these high standards.
Keith comes to his new role with a rich background that extends beyond Georgia-Pacific. His experience includes impressive stints at industry giants like General Motors Corporation and the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. And let’s not forget, he proudly served our country as a United States Navy Veteran, operating as a nuclear plant operator on submarines. Talk about dedication!
Keith isn’t new to leadership circles either. He maintains active involvement in the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) and the Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME). In fact, he serves on the board of the TAPPI Corrugated Packaging Council and participates in the Fibre Box Association (FBA) Safety Committee. This kind of involvement signals his commitment not just to his company, but to the industry as a whole.
On the academic front, Keith is no slouch. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Florida State University and boasts master’s degrees in both mechanical engineering and management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It’s clear that his educational background complements his extensive hands-on experience, making him an excellent fit for his new role.
When he’s not busy steering the Corrugated division, Keith enjoys spending quality time with his family. He resides in the bustling metro Atlanta area with his wife and their two college-aged sons. Balancing a career and family life can be challenging, but Keith seems to be managing it beautifully!
As Keith Hamilton begins this new chapter at Georgia-Pacific, the packaging industry will be watching closely. With a proven track record of operational excellence and a passion for safety, there’s no doubt he will make an impactful mark in his new leadership role. Stay tuned as we follow his journey and the innovative changes that the Corrugated division will undoubtedly experience under his guidance!
