Hey there, Savannah! Get ready for an inspiring event that’s just around the corner! Senior Citizens Inc. (SCI) has opened up reservations for the much-anticipated Eighth Annual Legends, Leaders, and Life Well Lived Luncheon scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. This wonderful gathering will take place at the stunning Palmetto Club at The Landings, and it promises to be a celebration you won’t want to miss.

Celebrating Amazing Community Figures

This year’s luncheon is set to honor three truly remarkable individuals who have made a significant impact on our community:

  • Dr. Otis S. Johnson: The former mayor of Savannah, a dedicated educator, and a passionate advocate for civil rights and social justice.
  • Camille O’Neill: A cherished educator and community leader known for her heartfelt dedication to service and the love she shows to everyone around her.
  • John A. White, Sr.: A celebrated World War II veteran, he was one of Savannah’s first African-American police officers and is recognized for his bravery and leadership during turbulent times.

This annual gala not only recognizes these extraordinary individuals but also expresses gratitude for their selfless contributions to society. It’s all about celebrating a life well-lived and serving as an inspiration for future generations!

Event Details & How to Get Involved

Chaired by the fabulous Jenny O’Sako, a partner and client advisor with Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, this event is intended to be a heartfelt tribute to those who have shaped our community’s fabric. The luncheon is graciously presented by the Kolé Family, who have been generous supporters of this initiative.

As part of a series of events marking SCI’s 65th anniversary, this luncheon works to further SCI’s vital mission: helping older adults in Coastal Georgia age successfully. Just think of the amazing stories that come from these lived experiences!

Tickets for the event are priced at $100 per individual. If you’re looking to enhance your connection to the community, consider the Leader’s Circle reservations available for $165 for individuals, or $330 for couples. It’s a perfect opportunity to not only enjoy a delightful afternoon but also to support a worthy cause.

For those who can’t attend, don’t fret! There are sponsorships and donation opportunities available. You can also choose to “Honor a Legend” with a $100 donation to recognize someone special in your life, which would include a tribute on social media to honor their legacy.
