Rana Edgar steps into her new role as Vice President of Resource Development at the United Way of the Coastal Empire, starting April 28, 2025. With a decade of experience in nonprofit fundraising, she aims to enhance the organization’s impact across five counties. Additionally, Stacy Jennings has been named the 2025 Woman of the Year, honoring her 33 years of dedicated service. Both leaders are set to bolster community engagement and fundraising efforts, including the Women Who Rule Event.
Exciting news is coming out of Savannah, Georgia, as Rana Edgar begins her new role as the Vice President of Resource Development at the United Way of the Coastal Empire. Starting Monday, April 28, 2025, Edgar will be at the helm of year-round fundraising initiatives, tirelessly working to secure essential financial resources that will drive the organization’s mission forward.
The United Way of the Coastal Empire plays a vital role in improving lives across Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long counties. With a mission to uplift communities, the organization focuses on finding innovative solutions to connect resources with those in need. Under Edgar’s leadership, the hope is to bolster the financial backing necessary to elevate the United Way’s impact in these areas.
With more than a decade of experience in non-profit fundraising, leadership, and program development, Edgar comes to the United Way with a strong background. Before joining forces with the United Way, she served as the Director of Institutional Advancement at Telfair Museums, where she led substantial fundraising and development initiatives while being a core member of the executive leadership team. Her academic credentials include an M.A. in Art History from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.F.A. in Photography from the College for Creative Studies, showcasing her commitment to both art and education.
Rana Edgar is not only a professional in her field but also an active community member. Her involvement with local organizations, such as the Savannah Rotary and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of Coastal Georgia, highlights her dedication to enriching the community. Additionally, her role as a volunteer professor at Mercer University’s Medical School demonstrates her commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
In another uplifting announcement, the United Way of the Coastal Empire has revealed that Stacy Jennings has been selected as the 2025 Woman of the Year. Jennings, who serves as the Executive Director of Communications for the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education, has dedicated over 33 years to the United Way, participating in various boards and committees throughout her tenure.
Jennings will be honored at the highly anticipated Women Who Rule Event on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. This special occasion will not only recognize her contributions and leadership but will also serve as a fundraising effort for the Women United Transportation Fund, which is dedicated to supporting women and caregivers in the community.
This essential fund has provided over 600 women with crucial transportation assistance in the fiscal year 2023-2024, offering services such as gas cards, bus passes, and car repairs. To date, the campaign has successfully raised over $105,000 for the Women United Transportation Fund, showcasing the community’s commitment to supporting women in need.
