Hey there, Savannah! Exciting news is coming your way as our vibrant city prepares for the Fourth Annual Greek and Civic Cleanup Day happening on Saturday, March 29. This event is a fantastic opportunity for residents to roll up their sleeves, come together, and give our beautiful neighborhoods a little TLC. If you’re passionate about keeping Savannah clean and wonderful, this day is carved out just for you!
Set to take place at the Liberty Community Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., this cleanup event serves as the official kickoff for the 2025 Great Savannah Cleanup. Yes, you heard it right – it’s the start of something big! The Great Savannah Cleanup will follow suit on Saturday, April 26, running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., so if you can’t make it on the 29th, you have another chance to join the action next month.
Local fraternities, sororities, and civic organizations are stepping up to show their commitment to beautifying our community. They, alongside participants from the Adopt-A-Spot program, will be adopting the Liberty City neighborhood and working diligently to clean up public spaces, grab any litter or debris, and enhance the neighborhood’s overall vibrancy.
Wondering about the perks? First off, it’s a chance to meet some new friends while working towards a common goal that makes a tangible difference in our community. Plus, students won’t want to miss this! All students participating are eligible to earn valuable community service hours, making this event a double win for those looking to contribute to their curriculum or extracurricular requirements.
Don’t worry about bringing supplies! The City of Savannah will provide safety vests, gloves, and plastic bags to support our cleanup efforts. The only thing you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a willingness to help our scenic Savannah sparkle just a little brighter!
But wait, there’s more! Residents and organizations are encouraged to explore the Adopt-A-Spot program. This initiative invites you to maintain adopted streets, parks, or neighborhoods year-round. It’s a great way to keep your favorite areas looking gorgeous and engaged, making Savannah a lovely home for all.
